Collection: Raw Honey
What is Raw Honey and what is all the fuss about?
Raw honey is honey that has not been heated above 40 degrees celsius.
Heating honey above this temperature destroys the natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that are inherent to honey. Raw honey has also not been micro filtered, meaning that all of the pollens remain in the jar - this is why it looks much cloudier than pasteurised 'supermarket' honey.
It is essentially honey straight from the hive.
As well as being absolutely delicious (seriously - try it, even if you don't like the honey from the supermarket, you might be surprised at how different it tastes!), Raw honey is a fabulous face mask (just rinse off with plain water), works wonders when dabbed on a pimple over night and is often highly regarded for helping heal minor wounds.
